Where to ski, month by month
Every month of the year, scored across 12 guides. February carries the most destinations in the prime band (17), but the right month is the one that lines up with the trip you can actually take.
The count of destinations in the prime band swings from 1 to 17 across the year, so the month you can travel in genuinely narrows the field.
Each guide ranks the skiing destinations that work in that month, from ten years of ERA5 reanalysis (2015-2024), and shows all twelve months for every spot so you can see whether you are looking at its peak or its shoulder.
